D&T- Making Scones
In Design and Technology this week, we have made scones.
First of all, we learnt the techniques of rubbing, whisking and kneading. We made the mixture for our scones in small groups and used all three of these techniques.
The next day once they were cooked and cooled down, we used our technique of spreading. We had the choice between butter and raspberry jam for our scones. We tasted them before evaluating. There wasn't a single person who didn't enjoy their scone, although there were some fantastic suggestions of ways to improve the scones; including adding fruit to the mixture before cooking, fruit on the top, cream, marshmallows as well as chocolate spread.
