Tutankhamun day
Mr Read's class had a wonderful day exploring the lives and traditions of Ancient Egyptians.
In the morning, the children learnt about the process of mummification and collaborated well to mummify an orange. Next, they explored a re-creation of pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb, discovered in 1922 by world-famous Egyptologist Howard Carter. They carefully crawled through the entrance into the tomb and examined different artefacts, asking a range of relevant, thought-provoking questions.
For their third activity, in the afternoon, they deciphered the mysterious circumstances of Tutankhamun's death. They looked at evidence for three different theories and made a decision on the one they believed was the most likely.
